Sleep, Little Wizzzard by Gosalyn2007 Sleep, Little Wizzzard by Gosalyn2007
Harry Potter and his friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, were gathered at the Forbidden Forest to meet Reubeus Hagrid for Care for their Magical Creatures lesson. All of the students from Gryffindor and Slytherin were going to be there, of course, especially Harry's arch-rival, Draco Malfoy, that snooty and bratty boy in Slytherin, but that didn't bother Harry, for he was excited to meet Hagrid, since he was a good friend of his. Reubeus Hagrid rescued him from the home in Godric's Hollow the night his parents were murdered by the Dark Lord, and on his eleventh birthday, he had come and whisked him away from the abusive and neglectful Dursley family who had treated him like a servant, which was the same day that he was told that he was a wizard and he was accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Right now, Harry wasn't thinking about the pair of yellow eyes that hid in the shadows of the tree tops from where he was standing, or the hissing sounds that echoed through the branches, or a certain large brown Python who was hiding in the tree, and extending its long tail down the tree trunk. All his thoughts were on Rubeus Hagrid, and the magic creatures. He had nothing else to think about.

Suddenly, without warning, a long snake coil slithered down the tree from where young Harry Potter was standing next to and then slowly began to wrap around the young Gryffindor student's waist. "Hey, what the?--" Harry cried out, as he was suddenly yanked up into the tree tops by the coils that held him. Harry shut his eyes, not wanting to think about when and where the tour to the tree would stop. By the time Harry's eyes fluttered open once more, he found himself resting on a branch, still wrapped up in coils. The boy noticed that his arms were both pinned to each sides of his body, so that it was futile to gain access to his wand. ''Oh great,'' he thought to himself, ''I get the funny feeling something isn't right around here...''

"Sssuccch a conveniencccce...a man-cub dropping at my territory..." A voice echoed through the domain. Harry swiftly swiveled his head around to see something slithering over to his direction. Clinching his teeth, he suddenly felt a knot in his stomach as he soon found himself face-to-face with the snake who brought him up to the tree.

"Say, are you the one who brought me up your coils?" the young wizard spoke. Since he was a Parselmouth, he had the unique ability to talk to snakes ever since Lord Voldemort had transferred part of his powers into him as an infant that night he tried to kill him, it was also the same night he had received the lighting-shaped scar on his forehead.

", ssso niccce to make your acquaintanccce..." the serpent replied, as he advanced his head over to the boy, who started to get a bit nervous, and for some good reason. He had known that the Forbidden Forest would be swarming with spiders since the last time he and his friend Ron came, but had no idea that he would run into a large serpent.

"Who are you?" Harry demanded as he writhed and wiggled in an attempt to break free from the grip of the snake's coils.

"Kaa isss the name, man-cub..." Came the reply, as the snake advanced his head closer towards the boy.

"Look, Kaa, I can't stay long, okay?" The boy spoke. "I have a...Care for Magical Creatures lesson with Hagrid, and I also have a Potions Lesson with Professor Snape; I can't afford to miss it. So, could you please let me go?"

"Let me look at you, man-cub," Kaa said to the young wizard, "Let me sssee thossse pretty eyesss of yoursss..."

"Oh, you don't know who I am, do you, Kaa?" Harry looked straight into Kaa's eyes, which would soon prove to be a fatal mistake. "I am Harry Potter, the boy who lived, you should know that; you should know that I am the Chosen One...I am a wizard."

"Harry Potter, hmm?" The serpent widened his eyes, upon hearing the name. "Oh yesss, I've heard all of thossse thingsss about you; I know who you are. You are the boy who lived, are you not?"

"Why, yes I am," Harry replied as he pulled Kaa's coils off his waist. "As a matter of fact, I survived Lord Voldemort's killing curse on the night he tried to kill me at Godric's Hollow and gave me this scar. That was also the same night he killed my parents." Harry pulled his bangs away from his face to reveal a lightning-shaped scar Voldemort gave him as an infant.

Down below, Ron and Hermione noticed that their friend Harry had disappeared.

"Harry is gone?" Ron's younger sister, Ginny gasped in worry. She had had a crush on Harry since her first year at Hogwarts. "What could have happened to him?"

"I don't know, Ginny." Ron shook his head. "I just don't know."

"I'm sure Harry didn't ditch this lesson on purpose," Hermione added reassuringly. "Hagrid is his friend. Don't worry Ginny, we'll find him."

"But where do you suppose he could be?" the flaming red-haired girl asked.

"Maybe Potter got gobbled up by a hideous monster in the forest," came a familiar drawl, sneering voice. Ginny, Ron and Hermione swiveled their heads to see a Slytherin boy with a sneer on his face, platinum blonde hair and pale skin; a Slytherin boy they despised the most — Draco Malfoy!

"Shut up, Malfoy!" Ron spat, scornfully. "This doesn't concern you!"

The next thing Harry knew, Kaa was looking the young Hogwarts Gryffindor student straight back into the eyes, and now he could not look away from Kaa's eyes. His mind echoed inside of him to turn around and look away, but his body would not obey. He became mesmerized by the spinning colorful spirals that reflected in his eyes.

"Pleasse go to sssleep...pleasse go to sssleep...sssleep little wizzzard, ressst in peaccce..." the serpent whispered into Harry's ear as more coils wrapped around the boy's chest and his shoulders, soon his neck would follow. The young wizard struggled to stay awake and resist falling asleep, but Kaa's spell was overwhelmingly strong, and the spirals were spinning even faster. Soon, his entire body became limp and relaxed, and his mind became completely empty; his senses had ceased to resist completely. The corners of his mouth had formed a clueless, yet creepy-looking smile on his face.

The young Gryffindor student's eyes grew heavier and heavier each second until they finally sealed shut. A yawn burst out of the boy's lungs as he sleepily snuggled in the serpent's coils. To Kaa, Harry looked so peaceful and content when he was fast asleep, all wrapped up in his warm, scaly, cozy bundle of coils.
